T40761 Ace Trains O Gauge G7-HW1 Bogie Hopper Wagon "I.C.I" R/N: 3203 SINGLE Wagon
I.C.I Bogie Hopper Wagon. Introduced in 1936 to transport limestone from the quarries in the Peak District of Derbyshire to Northwich, Cheshire for the production of chemicals for I.C.I. The wagons were manufactured by Charles Roberts & Co. Ltd of Wakefield & where used with many of the Steam locomotives and also through the years used also with many diesel/electric locomotives also. Scrapped in 2001.

Summers Bogie Hopper Wagon. Introduced in the early 1950’s these hopper wagons were used to transport iron ore from Bidston Docks, Birkenhead to John Summers Ltd Steel Works at Shotton, North Wales. The wagons were manufactured by Charles Roberts & Co. Ltd of Wakefield & where used with many locomotives. The last train to BSC Shotton from Bidston ran on 2nd April 1980.

T40832 Ace Trains O Gauge G7-HW3 Bogie Hopper Wagon "Yeoman" R/N: N/A SINGLE Wagon
Yeoman Bogie Hopper Wagon. The last loaded service formed of the hoppers ran on 28th December 1997 with a return empty train running on the 30th. After this trains used the younger PGAs formerly operated by ARC and Foster Yeoman and put back into service by CAIB. Wagons were laid up at both Tunstead and Northwich ends until 36 were dispatched for scrap by rail in June 1998. However, Brunner Mond still used the wagons internally at both the Lostock and Winnington works. Further wagons were sent for scrapping at the end of 1999 from Northwich. Brunner Mond successfully received a Freight Facilities Grant from the Government towards the cost of purchasing new wagons and updating the discharging facilities at Northwich. The PGAs will then be withdrawn from the services having caused problems during their tenure on the route.

B S C Bogie Hopper Wagon. In 1967 the Shotton Steelworks was ‘Nationalised’ to form The British Steel Corporation. Some of the John Summers wagons were repainted in the BSC corporation colours of turquoise blue livery By 1970 only about 25% of the fleet had received the new livery.
But many different locomotives run with this livery.
